Muri Beach Rarotonga is the main location in the Cook Islands for beach and water activities. Located on the south-east corner of the main island of Rarotonga, Muri Beach is popular for its protected lagoon which is good for swimming and for exploring the four small islets which sit within the reef. The islets can be waded to at both high and low tides. However, the best way to explore the islands is by sea kayaks or canoe which can be hired for about $15 for half a day. The lagoon has no coral so is not great for snorkelling. Captain Tama Cruizes takes day-trippers to the far end of Muri Beach where the snorkelling is considered the best on the island and you'll get the chance to see giant clams, some corals and lots of marine life.
