Cook Islands Holidays Guide
Cook Island beach - Aitutaki
Cook Islands holidays are the stuff of dreams. This is one of the best destinations in the South Pacific for a laid back beach holiday in a small and very relaxed island atmosphere. Rarotonga is often likened to Hawaii of 30 years ago whilst Aitutaki Lagoon is a far more beautiful than the over-commercialised Bora Bora Lagoon in Tahiti. In all, your Cook islands holiday will be one that stays in your memory for many years to come.

The main island of Rarotonga is location of the international airport and where many tourists spend their entire holiday. Rarotonga has high tropical mountains and beautiful beaches and swimming lagoons. It is one of the few places in the South Pacific where you will find lots of small properties offering just a handful of private beach bungalows set amongst coconut groves. Many of these beach bungalows offer self catering facilities and along with the excellent choice of restaurants around the island, you are sure to have a memorable time.

The exquisite Aitutaki Lagoon offers pure escapism with uninhabited islands to visit and gorgeous beaches with tranquil lagoons. Aitutaki can be visited from Rarotonga on a day tour (it's a 40-minute flight) but to really enjoy the pace of life and surroundings it's best to spend at least 2 nights on island. There are lots of small beach bungalows as well as several mall resorts and a couple of excellent restaurant
s.
